One of dirt late model racing’s most prestigious summer traditions returns this weekend as the Firecracker 100 presented by Experience Butler County takes center stage at Lernerville Speedway. The annual crown jewel event will once again welcome the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for three nights of competition culminating with Saturday night’s 100-lap Firecracker 100 finale.

Held on Lernerville Speedway’s historic 4/10-mile dirt oval, the Firecracker 100 has grown into one of the sport’s marquee events, attracting the biggest names in dirt late model racing and thousands of fans from across the country. The event carries a rich history and has produced an impressive list of champions over nearly two decades of competition.

This Firecracker 100 continues as part of Lernerville’s expanded Firecracker Fest, a multi-day celebration featuring racing, entertainment, camping, and fan activities.

The Firecracker Fest begins Monday with camper load-in, followed by a free camper welcome party at 8:00 PM featuring food and live music. On Tuesday, the Sportsman Gun Bash will take place, benefiting Autism of Pittsburgh, with complimentary food and prize giveaways. Wednesday will showcase the SEBRA Xtreme Bull Riding and Barrel Racing show. Additionally, there will be plenty of children’s activities and other entertainment planned throughout the week.

Racing action starts on Thursday and Friday with the field being split into two groups based on pill draw, with each group competing in a complete program of Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and their respective 25-lap, $5,000 to win A-Main.

The combined points from Thursday and Friday’s preliminary events will determine the line-ups for Saturday’s Heat Races. Saturday’s program will be highlighted by Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Heat Races, B-Mains, and the $50,000 to-win 20th Annual Firecracker 100.

Once again, the RUSH Late Models will join the weekend of racing as they take part in one of the richest Crate Late Model races in the country in the $20,000-to-win Bill Emig Memorial.
