Jake O’Neil’s team shared that their driver is “ok” after he flipped over during the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series race at Senoia.

On a restart with 20 laps left in the 50-lap feature, as he was going through turn 1, O’Neil, who was running in the 6th spot, got sideways and began drifting up towards the wall. As he was moving toward the wall he began to straighten it out after what appeared to be some brief contact from Zack Mitchell. He then pancaked the wall hard with his door.

After smacking the wall, Dillard Hatchet and Josh Putnam who were running the top had nowhere to go and both slammed into him. Hatchet would hit him first. That contact would lift O’Neil’s car up and into the air. Then Putnam came into Hatchet’s side and that contact shoved Hatchet further underneath O’Neil and flipped him.

It was reported at the track that “all drivers are okay. Being reported down there in turn 1 and 2 that all drivers are okay. Jake O’Neil in the 0 being reported that he is okay down there. That is great news. Safety equipment doing its job.”

The team shared an update on Faceook following the wreck, “Thank you god for protecting our driver! He’s ok and that’s what matters most.”

“We will assess the damages and let everybody know what our next race will be,” they added.

With the wreck O’Neil ended up finishing in 20th. He dropped to sixth in the points standings and is now 88 points behind current leader Ashton Winger, who has won three in a row with the series following his sweep of Magnolia Motor Speedway and then grabbing the checkers last night at Senoia.

The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series will be back in action on July 10th at Lavonia Speedway for a $10,000 to-win race. They will then head to Cherokee Speedway on July 11th for a $15,000 to-win race.
