Daniel Adam and his Adam Family Motorsports team announced they will no longer compete with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals full time moving forward after last night’s race at Camden Speedway.

The team stated in an update to Facebook, “Our full time Summer Nationals run has come to an end.”

As for why, the team shared, “We are low of parts, motors and chassis. After breaking a power steering/fuel pump last night we were forced to look to the future of running the MARS Racing Series for the rest of the season. The team is enroute to Rocket Chassis as we speak to get a chassis clipped from the wreck at I-55 a couple weeks ago.”

While they will no longer be competing full time with the tour, they still do plan to compete with them when they roll in to Lincoln Speedway on July 2nd, “We will be re-stocking on parts and plan to be at Lincoln Speedway Thursday for the Summer nats race there.”

Adam and his team are currently fifth in the DIRTcar Summer Nationals points chase following the race at Camden Speedway. They were only 214 points behind current leader Tanner English. The team started off strong in week one and is currently in third just 73 points behind Tanner English. So far they had 2 Top 5s and 3 Top 10s. He finished 5th at Coles County and Sycamore and 6th in a highly competitive field at Fairbury.

It’s possible that Adam will also compete with the Summer Nationals when it heads to Kankakee County Speedway on July 6th given the race was originally supposed to take place during Week 1, but was postponed. Despite it now taking place in Week 5, it will still count towards the Week 1 points.

As for Week 2, the team finished 7th in the points with 2 Top 10s. Those 2 top 10s were a 7th at Wilmot and a  9th at Farmer City.

In the MARS Late Model Championship, Adam and his team currently sit 5th in the points, 147 behind current leader Ryan Unzicker. The series has been on a break since the end of May allowing its teams to compete in the Summer Nationals as well as The Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway. However, it will be back in action in the middle of July with a doubleheader weekend that begins at Farmer City Raceway on July 17th and concludes at Charleston Speedway on July 18th.
