The Summer Nationals issued a statement on why Kyle Hammer was disqualified from the Pepsi Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway on Sunday night.
Hammer was slated to start 15th, but before the race began he was instructed to pull into the infield and then after a conversation with Summer Nationals official Jonathan Clayton, he was disqualified.
The DIRTcar Summer Nationals issued a statement to StockCarReport.com regarding the disqualification, “Hammer was disqualified from the main event last night due to his involvement in an altercation with another driver in the pit area.”
Hammer’s made three starts with the Summer Nationals this year with 1 top 5 and 2 top 10s. He finished 5th at Farmer City on June 19th and 8th at Lincoln Speedway on July 2nd. He attempted to make the race at Fairbury on June 13th, but came up one spot short in a Last Chance Showdown race finishing third when only the top two advanced to the feature. Outside of the Summer Nationals, he’s visited victory lane three times, twice at Farmer City and once at Fairbury. He also made the feature in his preliminary night at Eldora for the Dirt Late Model Dream and finished 24th.
According to his website, Hammer is next slated to be back in action at Lincoln Speedway on July 21st for the FloRacing Night in America series race.
