Jason Feger announced he will not finish out the final week of the Summer Nationals following tonight’s race at I-96 Speedway.

Feger shared in a post to Facebook, “Peace out, Summer Nationals … what a ride ๐Ÿ˜… its been fun, but after tonight at I-96 Speedway, weโ€™re rolling back to the Land of Lincoln ๐Ÿ

“This tour had a little bit of EVERYTHING โ€” snagged a few wins ๐Ÿ†, hit some new tracks ๐Ÿ›ž, dodged (and didnโ€™t dodge) the rain ๐ŸŒง๏ธ, and had some ongoing conversations with those lovely tire demons ๐Ÿ™ƒ Safe to sayโ€ฆ they won a few rounds ๐Ÿ˜‚ Now itโ€™s time to tighten things up and find some more GO fast โšก.”

Instead of closing out the Summer Nationals at Crystal Motor Speedway and Oakshade Raceway on Friday and Saturday night, he will race at Farmer City Raceway on Friday and Fairbury on Saturday night.

Finally, he congratulated Tanner English on winning the overall title, “Shoutout to Tanner English and crew for being on it all series. Congrats on the title.”

Following the race at Montpelier Speedway on Tuesday night, Feger was 123 points behind English for the overall title, but was still within striking distance given one can earn up to 80 points per race. However, it likely would have been extraordinarily difficult given how consistent English has been. Removing Montpelier Motor Speedway, where he start and parked last night due to the series awarding show up points to all competitors, English has an average finish of 2.7 over 17 races.

While Feger is conceding the overall points championship to English, he did have a solid Summer Nationals run winning 5 races, 10 Top 5s, and 17 Top 10s. He had an average finish of 4.3 if you remove Montpelier. His five wins came at Coles County Speedway, Wilmot Raceway, Farmer City Raceway, Old No. 1 Speedway, and Lincoln Speedway.

Additionally, he won the Week 2 championship and collected the $10,000 check.

Following this weekend at Farmer City and Fairbury, Feger is likely to return to compete with the MARS series as they race at Farmer City Raceway on July 17th and Charleston Speedway on July 18th. Feger is currently second in the points, just 93 points behind current leader Ryan Unzicker.
