Saturday’s Biddle Ridley Memorial At North Georgia Speedway Rained Out, Garrett Smith Awarded Second Straight Spring Nationals Title

July 10, 2026  ·
  Press Release

For the third time this year, the ‘Biddle Ridley Memorial’ at North Georgia Speedway has been rained out. Already succumbing to wet weather on May 23 and June 18, a high chance of rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day on Saturday, July 11 have once again doomed the $7,553 to win Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by GoSunoco contest. This time, no make-up date is available and the ‘Biddle Ridley Memorial’ has officially been cancelled for the 2026 season.

“We really hate that we couldn’t end the Spring Nationals season by getting the Biddle Ridley Memorial in the books,” quoted series promoter Ray Cook today. “You can’t say we didn’t try with the event getting rained out on three different occasions. It’s one of the cornerstone events of North Georgia Speedway’s season, so I also hate it for the fans and of course the Ridley family. While this year wasn’t meant to be, the Biddle Ridley Memorial will return to the Spring Nationals schedule again in 2027!”

With tomorrow’s show canceled at the Chatsworth, Georgia oval, the 2026 version of the Spring Nationals is now complete. Garrett Smith, of Madison, Georgia, officially captured his second straight Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series title – worth $10,053 – over Brandon Overton, Benji Hicks, Kaede Loudy, and Jack Franklin. In the eight series races that escaped the wrath of Mother Nature, Brandon Overton (two wins), Chris Madden, Garrett Smith, Dale McDowell, Hudson O’Neal, Mike Marlar, and Zack Mitchell were able to reach victory lane.

The next event on the racing calendar at North Georgia Speedway will be the annual ‘Young Memorial’ on Friday night, July 24. The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series will roll into the northern Georgia facility to preside over the $10,053 to win Super Late Model shootout. The Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series will also be in Chatsworth on July 24, as the 602 Late Model special will shell out a $2,000 first place prize. Times, ticket info, and support classes for the ‘Young Memorial’ will be announced soon.
