Cody Sommer and his Race DRT announced that Tyler Carpenter will pilot the team’s car for the upcoming World 100 at Eldora Speedway in September.
However, before they get to Eldora, Carpenter will compete in a number of Carolina Clash races in North Carolina and South Carolina in July and August before the World 100.
The team announced in a Facebook post, “Welcome Tyler Carpenter Racing to the Race DRT #13 ride for the WORLD 100 & more!”
It then shared that they will race at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, North Carolina on July 18th with the Carolina Clash. The team will then race at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, North Carolina with the Carolina Clash race there on August 14th. They will continue to follow the Clash when it heads to Cherokee Speedway on August 15th.

Carpenter is no stranger to competing in the World 100 weekend, but he has never made the feature event. He made his first appearance back in 2016 and has competed off and on since then making appearances in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
His best finish on a preliminary night was 10th back in 2016. He finished 12th in his preliminary race last year.
The announcement to have Carpenter pilot the car comes in the wake of his first ever Summer Nationals win at Wayne County Speedway. It was Carpenter’s 4th win of the year. He also has wins at Tyler County Speedway, Muskingum County Speedway, and Elkins Speedway. Additionally, he’s made a couple of national series races this year as well. He finished 24th in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race at the end of March at Atomic Speedway. When the World of Outlaws went to West Virginia Motor Speedway, he failed to make the show on Friday night, but finished 11th on Saturday night in the middle of June.
