Selinsgrove Speedway announced that Drake Troutman will make his debut with his new Jerry Foster owned team at the track tonight.

The track shared in a post to Facebook, “Drake Troutman makes his debut in the Jerry Foster 5 (7? ) after only a single test session last night.”

It added, “Drake made it to the podium back in May when the World of Outlaws Late Model Series came to town. Can he make it to Victory Lane tonight in his new ride?”

Troutman added in his own post, “Drake Troutman Racing x JFR Motorsports is here — and we’re here to stay. This team has been working day in and day out to bring you the best of the best, and we couldn’t wait any longer to showcase what we’ve been doing behind the scenes.”

“We also would like to take a moment to thank all of our sponsors for their incredible support over the last few weeks. We truly appreciate everyone who has believed in this team. Most importantly we would like to thank Jerry Foster for giving us the opportunity to make this next chapter possible,” he added. “With a pick-and-choose schedule through the end of 2026, you can find Drake in his Jerry Foster owned late model, TODAY at Selinsgrove Speedway, and tomorrow at Winchester Speedway! A new era begins today.”

Troutman will be piloting a Longhorn Chassis with Bilstein Shocks and Vic Hill and Clements power plants. 

Troutman teased he could possibly debut with the team this weekend. At the beginning of the month, he told Thomas Cordell of Elbows Up Dirt Productions, “Right now, it’s either going to be the 24th, 25th of July or it’s going to be right into the North/South for the Lucas Oil show at Florence, which is second week in August.”

Troutman revealed he would compete with Jerry Foster following his split with G.R. Smith Motorsports at the end of June. Troutman told FloRacing’s Kyle McFadden, “We are. But just to make something very, very clear, he didn’t call and beg me to come race for him. He was like, ‘We wanna come try this Late Model, if you wanna come drive it, I’d love to have you. If not, I know you already have a prior commitment. If you wanna keep doing that, I’ll find someone else to drive it. But I wanna give the Late Model a whirl.’”

“It’s something I gave a lot of thought about,” Troutman shared. “And then I started leaning in that direction a little bit. That’s where I couldn’t give G.R. the commitment. That’s where it was hard. G.R. and his family were great to me.”

Since splitting with G.R. Smith Motorsports, Troutman competed in Colton Flinner’s backup car out of the John Johnson-owned stable. He won with the car at Michaels Mercer Raceway and The Dirt Track at Genesee in the beginning of the month. 

As Troutman informed Cordell, the team also plans to race at the North/South 100 at Florence Speedway at the beginning of August. Foster informed McFadden at the end of June that the team planned to not only compete in the North/South 100 but at the World 100 at Eldora Speedway as well as the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

Furthermore, he shared that Troutman would compete in the modified to generate revenue for the team, “He’s going to try and race the modified a little more because, at the end of the day, we all need a little revenue. To keep him racing the modified makes sense because it’ll help pay the guys until next season comes along.”

As for their plans for 2027, Foster shared that he was leaning towards running with the Lucas Oil Late Model Series. However, a decision had not been made.
