Trevor Hughes Rolls To Valley Speedway Victory With Heartland Modified Tour

  Press Release

Saturday night was a scorcher on the thermometer and the track. Action commenced from Dennis Shrout’s Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri. When the dust settled and temperatures lowered a bit, Trevor Hughes took the VP Checkered Flag and celebrated in Wehrs Machine Victory Lane.

“For a place I’ve never been the night couldn’t have gone much better,” said Hughes following the race. “I was pretty nervous for the heat race with how big the curb was. Thankfully we didn’t have any big mistakes. Come feature time, the track was a little more my style being able to run the middle. We got a caution at just the right time, and just had everything work out for us.”

The win for Hughes is his first with the tour since Labor Day weekend a year ago when he bested the field at Lake Ozark Speedway.

Behind him, Tanner Mullens and Dean Wille Completed the podium. Wyatt Gaggero ran fourth and Chevy Coleman was fifth. Coleman had engine trouble early and swapped powerplants in the pits between races. Early in the evening three heats were contested. The winners were; Hughes, Mullens and Paden Phillips.

With ten races in for the season, Tyler Davis continues to ride out front in the chase for the title. He is 83 markers up on Trevor Hughes. Chevy Coleman sits third 92 points out of the lead.

On deck for the USRA HMT Presented by Real Racing Wheels will be the Larry Phillips Memorial at Tri State Speedway. The event dates are August 28 and 29.
