Ricky Thornton Jr. announced that he and his team are auctioning off the panels from his Prairie Dirt Classic Modified with the proceeds going to support Rylee Owens who was involved in a tragic boating accident.

According to a report from Kentucky Today, 20-year-old Rylee Owens “suffered severe leg injuries from a boat propeller and was found unconscious on Friday, July 3rd on Lake Barkley.”

Additionally, the report indicates that she was injured while attempting “to secure a jet ski that was loose.”

As noted by Kyle Strickler earlier this month, Owens is the daughter of long time car owner of Trent Young’s Modified. 

Thornton shared on Facebook that he was auctioning off the panels from his special Saturday night Prairie Dirt Classic Modified Wrap that includes a “Prayers For Rylee” message. He wrote, “We are auctioning off the panels from the modified this past weekend. All proceeds will go to Rylee Owens, she was involved in a tragic boating and has a long road to recovery. Her favorite color is blue, so was very fitting to do a blue wrap.”

“Auction will be up until Wednesday August 5th and closes at 12:00pm. Please click on the picture your wanting to bid on and put in the comment section,” Thornton instructed. “Can ship at buyers expense or can pickup at a race near you. Big thank you to Integrity drilling for donating $1,000.”

One of the top bids on the hood is currently $1,200. One of the doors is currently going for $1,000 as well. The other one is at $810.

A SpotFund has also been created to help with Rylee’s road to recovery. Creator Lacey Francies shared, “Rylee was involved in a tragic boating accident and has a long road to recovery ahead. As she focuses on healing, her family will be facing medical expenses and many unexpected costs that come with caring for a loved one after a traumatic injury. … Every donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden so the family can focus on what matters most—Rylee’s recovery.
