Inheriting the point when racelong leader Trent Ivey tangled with a car while working lapped traffic on the twenty-second circuit, Dale Timms led the rest of the way on Friday night at Laurens County Speedway to record his first Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series victory of the 2026 campaign! Dale, who early in the night claimed the top spot in RaceDay Safety hot laps, timed in second quickest in Group A during the qualifying session to earn the inside of the second row for the start of the 30-lap headliner. The Hodges, South Carolina ace then ran in the second position for much of the contest before officially leading the final nine laps around the Laurens, South Carolina speedplant.

At the checkered flag, Dale, who was wheeling a Brian Grumbles-owned #84 machine, found himself 0.876 of a second ahead of the pack to pocket the $2,000 first place prize money. Luke Cooper passed a trio of competitors to finish in the runner-up spot, while Monk Gulledge improved five positions to round out the podium in third. Current Red Clay Series point leader Dawson Lowe placed fourth at the conclusion of the race and Billy Rushton crossed the finish line in fifth.

A total of 18 competitors signed into the pit area at Laurens County Speedway for round eleven of the Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series schedule. Dale Timms topped the speed chart during RaceDay Safety hot laps with a time of 15.940 seconds, while Dawson Lowe laid down the quickest time during Knowles Race Parts and Bodies qualifying with a lap of 15.672 seconds. Trent Ivey, who went fastest in Group A during time trials and led the first twenty-one circuits of the A-Main from the pole, was ultimately disqualified for the actions of his crew in the pit area following the lap twenty-two tangle.

With Saturday’s visit to Harris Speedway in Rutherfordton, North Carolina wiped out due to inclement weather, the Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series now turns its focus to Winder-Barrow Speedway in Winder, Georgia next Saturday, August 8. A $2,700 payday will be up for grabs, as North Georgia Truck and Diesel Service has upped the prize money for first place. More information on “The Baja” can be viewed online at www.winderbarrowspeedway.com.
