16 year-old Sprint Car driver Aiden Price, who competes in the No. 44 for Farmer Racing, shared he suffered a T10 burst fracture after he wrecked while racing around the 10th position at Attica Raceway Park on Friday night.

The track shared that the red flag was displayed after Price flipped in turn one. At the time, they also shared that he was “out of the car but taking his time with the safety crew.”

The track went on to share that Price was being transported to a hospital as a precaution.

On August 1st, Price shared an update after getting multiple opinions and visiting two hospitals. He shared on Facebook, “Unfortunately I have a T10 burst fracture which the first hospital only thought it was a compressed fracture until I had an MRI done.”

“Plan is to hopefully be able to walk stably in a back brace to get home and have surgery done there,” he continued. “Not sure how long the recovery will be but more than likely out for the rest of the season. No major issues with the spinal cord but it is in their concern on the way it is broken. Still can move very easily with my body just very painful to work my back around obviously.”

As for what happened, Price shared vivid details, “I do remember what happened vividly on track. Went into turn 1 and suddenly the right front dropped and we think the right front tire was either cut, or blew off the bead. Did 2 cartwheels and remember sitting there on my nose balancing in the air and just remember seeing the whole car slowly start to fall and think this isn’t gonna be good at all before I actually landed.”

“Really thankful for the awesome track workers at Attica Raceway Park. Did an awesome job I just wanted off the track so they could continue racing but Justin said I was the first priority right then .”

“Huge thanks as well to Rich and Shelly Farmer for all of their support. Also huge thanks to AJ, Sheldon, and Ryder,” Price added. “Car was stupid fast just made a mistake running 3rd and hopped the curb and couldn’t drive out of it. Really let them down and totally felt I had the speed to continue and pass cars and get to the front until the crash happened.”

“Big thanks to Auntie Alyssa and Ray for staying with me in the ambulance and hospital until my parents got there. Also a huge thanks to all our great partners and hope to be on the track in the future stronger and faster,” he concluded.
