Ashton Torgerson announced he split with the 3 Stooges Racing team.

He wrote in a post to Facebook, “Effective immediately, I have made the decision to part ways with the number 51 3 Stooges Racing team.”

“First off, I want to thank Jeff West and Noah West for giving me the opportunity to keep chasing my dream of racing with the World of Outlaws,” he continued. “I’ll always be grateful that they believed in me and gave me that chance. While this chapter has come to an end, I’m proud of the effort everyone put in, and I wish the entire 3 Stooges Racing team nothing but the best moving forward.”

“As of right now, I don’t have any plans in place for the remainder of the season. I’m actively looking at any opportunities that may come my way, and I’m ready to get back to the racetrack as soon as the right opportunity presents itself,” he added. “Thank you to all of my sponsors, fans, family, and everyone who continues to support me through the highs and lows of this journey. This isn’t the end—it’s just another chapter. We’ll keep pushing forward and see where the road leads next.”

This is not the first change of rides for Torgerson this year. At the beginning of May he announced that Shark Racing and team owner Jacob Allen made the decision to park the team. Torgerson wrote at the time in a post to Facebook, “This is a hard post for me to make, but effective immediately, Jacob Allen has made the decision to park the team.”

Torgerson would pair up with Kyle Moody Motorsports ahead of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series races at Williams Grove Speedway. He would finish 23rd and 8th with them.

It was then announced that he was teaming up with 3 Stooges Racing after the team parted ways with Scott Bogucki. The pairing debuted at Attica Raceway Park and finished 11th in the $20,000 to-win John Bores 20th Anniversary Race.

The team’s debut with the Outlaws did not go as well. They finished 10th in a Last Chance Showdown at Eldora Speedway for #LetsRaceTwo event. They would make the feature on Saturday ight and finish 23rd. The pairings best finish together was an 8th place at Angell Park Speedway at the beginning of June.

The team struggled during the recent trip to the Northeast. At Ohsweken they failed to finish and were scored in 25th. A couple of days later they finished 16th at Weedsport. However, during the second night at the track they failed to advance to the feature and finished 7th in a Last Chance Showdown. That would happen again a few days later at BAPS Motor Speedway, where they finished 9th in a Last Chance Showdown. At Williams Grove Speedway, they finished 5th in the C Feature on Friday, July 31st and then 14th in the Last Chance Showdown on Saturday night.

Torgerson is currently 13th in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series points standings. He’s second in the Rookie of the Year battle with Emerson Axsom, 268 points back.
