High Limit Racing announced that Dominic Scelzi will fill in for Brenham Crouch during the tour’s entire West Coast swing after Crouch was injured during the Knoxville Nationals.
Crouch was injured during the preliminary Hard Knox race at Knoxville Raceway that was rescheduled for Saturday afternoon. On lap 5 of the 25-lap feature, Donny Schatz made a huge move passing both Scelzi and race leader Carson McCarl. Scelzi then made contact with McCarl’s right rear with his left front. The contact immediately sent Scelzi head first into the outside wall where he began flipping.
Crouch, who was running the high line through the corner attempted to avoid the flipping Scelzi, but had nowhere to go and smashed hard into him. The contact then violently flipped him over before he eventually came to a stop on all four wheels.
