Jeff Gordon and Connor Zilisch addressed Zilisch’s Red Bull sponsorship given Hendrick Motorsports announced a multi-year deal with Phorm Energy back in 2025 that runs through 2027.
Back in June 2025, Hendrick Motorsports announced the deal with Phorm Energy noting it began immediately and runs through 2027. The deal included Phorm being the primary sponsor on William Byron’s No. 24 car for two races in 2026 and four races in 2027. Additionally, it would be an associate sponsor on Larson, Byron and Bowman’s cars in 2025, 2026, and 2027.
On top of sponsoring the cars, Hendrick Motorsports shared that the partnership also extended to the team’s Atrium Health Motorsports Athletic Center, which opened in January of this year.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to work with a powerhouse like Anheuser-Busch, as they launch Phorm Energy and build something new,” Gordon said at the time. “As a brand grounded in shared values of dedication and hard work, we’re proud that the No. 24 team and our incredible athletes get to be part of their community. We’re making a major investment in our facilities to support our teammates with the best possible resources, and it’s exciting to have Phorm Energy involved from day one. We look forward to collaborating on a distinctive and authentic program.”

Gordon and team owner Rick Hendrick were asked about Zilisch’s partnership with Red Bull by journalist Davey Segal during the team’s press conference announcing its deal with Zilisch. The deal sees Zilisch join Hendrick for the 2028 season after his time with Trackhouse ends in 2027. Segal asked, “How do you guys envision Red Bull’s relationship with Connor kind of folding into Hendrick Motorsports in the future and the company in general starting in 2028?”
“We haven’t had those conversations. We have our own brand, Phorm Energy, that is a Hendrick partner. And we respect that Connor has been a longtime Red Bull athlete. He’ll continue to represent them with Trackhouse and we’ll continue to represent Phorm Energy,” Gordon said. “We’ve got some time to see what the future holds, but we’re going to respect those agreements and those organizations simultaneously until maybe those contracts are up. But right now we plan to completely stand behind Phorm Energy. They’ve been a great partner of ours. I have a personal relationship some of the folks over there and they’ve been a great partner of ours and we hope that happens for a long time to come.”
Zilisch then commented on his Red Bull partnership, “Red Bull has been an incredible partner for me. And bein a Red Bull athlete is one of my favorite jobs that I have. I get to do so many cool things and experience a lot of different things that I never thought I would in previous years.”
“Obviously, there’s a lot of time and obviously we both have our own relationships. That’s about all there is to it,” he concluded.
Zilisch has been a Red Bull athlete since September 2024. He made the announcement in a post to social media, “So stoked to be joining the Red Bull family as a Red Bull athlete! This has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid and I couldn’t be more pumped. Let’s go!!!”
