R.J. Conley, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, racked up his third straight feature win at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday night, August 15! After timing in second quickest overall during Super Late Model qualifying and winning his heat race, R.J. rolled off from the outside of the front row in the 20-lap headliner. He then grabbed the point on the third circuit and led the remainder of the distance to pocket the $2,000 first place prize money ahead of runner-up Kirk Phillips, Rod Conley, Mike Hildebrand, and Josh Bocook!
“Hot Rod” stopped the clock fifth fastest during time trials prior to running second in his heat race. Rod then started and finished third at the Portsmouth, Ohio venue to round out the podium. Full results from Jackie Boggs Kids Night can be accessed on the track’s Facebook page.
The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams will look for similar success this upcoming weekend (August 21-22) in a pair of Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series battles in the Buckeye State. Later tonight, both Rod and R.J. Conley will visit Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio for the 19th Annual Ike Moler Memorial, which will boast a $5,000 payday. The 23rd edition of the Iron-Man Classic will then take center stage on Saturday at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, as a $7,500 winner’s check will be up for grabs.
R.J. comes into PRP looking for his fourth straight victory at the newly-reopened facility, while Rod comes into the weekend sitting second in the latest version of the American Late Model Iron-Man Series point standings.
