NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Brenden “Butterbean” Queen announced that he will make his Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series debut at Port Royal Speedway this weekend.

Queen wrote on social media, “Ready to try something a little different this weekend. Excited to rip in this new Longhorn Chassis with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series up in Port Royal Speedway this Friday night and Saturday night.”

Queen shared with StockCarReport.com back at the end of June that he was planning to compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sometime later this year. In an interview ahead of the Thunder Road Harley-Davidson 200 at South Boston, Queen said, “We got a surprise car on the way and plan to maybe do some Lucas Oil stuff and definitely looking at the Dome this year. So just want to go have fun and try to make the show. That’d be a win and have a good time doing it.”

“I’m thankful for the Staton family for supplying me dirt cars to go drive whenever and looking forward to having some fun doing that on some off weeks,” he added. “We’d like to go to Eldora, but just got to look at the schedules. Obviously, my job in the Truck Series with Kaulig Racing is my priority, but if we can make some off weekends work and it works out, I wouldn’t say no.”

Queen is no stranger to a dirt late model, he regularly competed at Dixieland Speedway in the track’s limited late model class over the last few years. He got his first win in 2022 and won four more that year for a total of five wins on his way to not only the track’s Rookie of the Year title, but the overall track championship as well. In 2023, he also competed in an Ultimate Super Late Model Series race at Halifax County Motor Speedway, where he finished 9th. According to My Race Pass, his last appearance on dirt was at Dixieland where he finished 9th back in October 2025.  

At the end of July this year, Queen attempted to compete at Lancaster Motor Speedway with the Blue Ridge Outlaw Series, but unfortunately the race was rained out.
