Modified Driver Joe Duvall Involved “In A Work Accident And Is Severely Burned”

Shelley Duvall, the wife of Modified driver Joe Duvall, announced that he was injured in a “work accident and is severely burned.”

The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) initially reported that Duvall was injured yesterday writing on Facebook, “Please keep Joe Duvall and his family in your thoughts and prayers today as he was severely injured yesterday.”

Shelley shared more details in her own Facebook post, “Thank you all so much for the prayers and reaching out❤️ We truly appreciate every prayer, message, and thought.”

“Joe was involved in a work accident and is severely burned and right now we’re just trying to navigate through everything and take it one step at a time in the burn unit. Please continue to keep him and our family in your prayers. 🙏🏼.”

She concluded, “I’ll update everyone as I have them. Thank you all for understanding and keeping us in your thoughts. ❤️.”

Shelley did not provide any details on exactly what the accident was. Duvall owned and operated Duvall Electric in Claremore, Oklahoma.

The racing community has rallied around Duvall with numerous dirt drivers, teams, and promoters offering their thoughts and prayers to Duvall and his family.

Ricky Thornton Jr. wrote, “Hoping the best for Joe, not gonna find a better all around person.” 

Mike Marlar posted, “Please pray for Joe and his family🙏🏼!”

The Wild West Shootout posted, ” Please keep Joe Duvall and his family in your thoughts and prayers today as he recovers from injuries sustained yesterday while working. Duvall is a regular competitor in the Wild West Shootout, and we are wishing him a speedy recovery. Get well soon, Joe! 🙏”

Gordy Gundaker wrote, “My thoughts and prayers go out to Joe Duvall along with all of his family and friends during this time. I know no details, so don’t ask. Just sending prayers after hearing he was injured yesterday. Joe is one of the good guys in the sport who will do anything for anyone. And right now he needs our prayers and support 🙏.”
