Modoc Speedway announced it will “roar back to life in 2026” for a complete schedule in 2026 after it was announced the track would host two World of Outlaws races at the end of October in 2026.
The track, which is located in Modoc, South Carolina about 2 and a half hours east of Atlanta, Georgia and an hour and a half south west of Columbia, South Carolina, announced that it has “undergone what can only be described as a complete rebuild over the last few years while it has been dormant. But now track owner Ronnie Powell is ready to go racing.”
The season will kick off with an open practice on Saturday, March 7 “for any and all classes” and then officially get underway on Friday, March 20th when the Southern All Star Racing Series arrives at the track with $10,053 on the line for the super late models.
Additionally, the track shared that the plan is “to host stock car racing once per month with plans to also host kart racing on the infield oval later in the year.”
As for what divisions the track plans to race, it shared, “Complete divisions and rules information will also be formalized later in January. It is likely that Modoc will run similar classes to the other tracks of the region including (SSTA) Factory Stock, Crown Vic and (SCDRA) Front Wheel Drives.”
As previously mentioned it will host the World of Outlaws for a two-night event on Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th.
Back in January 2024, the track shared a video revealing it had put down a base layer of gray dirt and clay down and was working on tweaking the banking to get it smoothed out. The track also noted that it had made changes along the back stretch as well as in the middle of turns 1 and 2 where it was adding a new scoreboard.
