The Billy Hicks Racing team announced it will make the trek to Senoia Raceway for the FloRacing Night in America series’ season finale and the Freddy Smith Memorial at Cherokee.
The team announced on Facebook, “The Billy Hicks owned #79 will be in action at Senoia Raceway Thursday-Saturday for the Peach State Classic and Sunday at ๐๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐๐๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ช ๐ผ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ Cherokee Speedway for the Freddy Smith Memorial!”
Of note the team did not reveal who would be behind the wheel. It announced in the middle of last month that Donald McIntosh would no longer be with the team. The team shared on Facebook, ”
As the 2025 season comes to an end for the Billy Hicks Racing team, weโd like to thank Donald McIntosh for all of his hard work and dedication. We over came many obstacles and still were able to win Oโreillys Rookie of the Year!โ
โNEW news for 2026, both Billy Hicks Racing & Donald McIntosh Racing will be heading in different directions,โ the team added. โMay the new season bring us both success!โ
McIntosh commented toย FloRacing explaining the split, โItโs just been a long year. Billyโs done this a long time and weโve done it a long time together. And itโs just, itโs time for a change. Weโve had a lot of fun and weโve had success together. We won a couple Ray Cook series and were able to cap off on this. Iโm proud to have done it with him and heโs a like a father figure to me really. Itโs a step that Iโm wanting to take and Iโve been blessed to do it. Itโs just time for something else.”
He went on to confirm he has not finalized plans for 2026, โNo plans finalized. Iโd really love to do this again, but just really trying to see. See whatโs out there and whatโs next for me.โ
While the Billy Hicks team did not announce who would be behind the wheel a number of fans shared who they would like to see including: Cody Overton, Michael Page, Ross Bailes, Jake Green, Casey Roberts, and Chris Fleming.
As far as national prospects Cody Overton and Daulton Wilson are probably the biggest names. Wilson separated from JRR at the end of this season and has found success in the Big Frog car while Overton ended the Outlaws season 8th in points, but his car owner Dave Steine is retiring.
Overton got emotional while talking about his time with Steine during the World of Outlaws Awards Celebration yesterday, “Dave, he’s done everything for me. He’s got me yearning. The man, I just owe him everything. He’s awesome. If I never get to do it again I appreciate everything, Dave. He’s been really good. He’s been like a dad to me. โฆ I hate to get emotional, but the dude’s down way more for me than anybody has ever wanted to do.”
