Bobby Pierce shared why he’s not competing in the DirtCar Summer Nationals colloquially called the Hell Tour.

Pierce typically competed in a number of the races over the last couple of years albeit he only ran in one last year, but in 2023 he ran in two and won both. In 2022 he won the Championship beating Payton Freeman. He competed in 19 races and won 7 of them. He also had 15 Top 5s and 17 Top 10s out of the 19 starts. It was his second championship in as many years as he also won in 2021 when he racked up 13 wins, 23 top 5s, and 25 top 10s in 28 starts besting Ashton Winger by 178 points.

However, Pierce shared that he won’t be competing in the Hell Tour this year revealing that his dad, Bob “The Tall Cool One” Pierce underwent knee surgery. Pierce posted on Facebook, “Bob had a knee surgery yesterday. Everyone had lots of questions as to why no summer nats this week for the 32 car & that’s the main reason why! So we won’t be racing until the next WoO point race like my previous post stated.”

He then noted that his dad is doing well and recovering, “Bob is home and recovering well, I appreciate all the well wishes sent his way and we will be back racing soon! Until then.. I’m gonna watch this Hell Tour race on my couch tonight”

As Pierce noted, in a previous post he shared that his next race will be the Firecracker Faceoff with the World of Outlaws at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri on June 20th and 21st He will next head to Independence Raceway on June 23rd. Next is the Fergus Falls Showdown at I-94 Speedway in Minnesota. After that he heads to the Grand Forks Showdown at River Cities Speedway in North Dakota.

He finishes off the month of June at the Norman County Showdown at Norman County Raceway in Minnesota on June 28th and the Minot Mayhem at NoDak Speedway in North Dakota on June 29th. He begins July with the Gopher 50 at Deer Creek Speedway in Minnesota from July 3 to July 5th.

In fact, on his website, the next non-World of Outlaws race will be at the Silver Dollar Nationals at Huset’s Speedway with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the middle of July. After that he will be at Fairbury American Legion Speedway for the FloRacing Night in America race ahead of the 35th annual Prairie Dirt Classic.
