RFK Racing announced that team owner and driver Brad Keselowski underwent surgery after suffering a broken leg during a family ski trip.
In a statement posted to social media, the team stated, “In the interest of transparency we share RFK Racing co-owner and driver Brad Keselowski suffered a broken leg while on a ski trip with his family Thursday. Keselowski has successfully completed routine surgery, and doctors expect a quick and full recovery.”
As part of the post, Keselowski issued a statement indicating he’s working to be fully recovered by Daytona, “I’m grateful for the medical team who took great care of me and for the support system around me. My attention now is fully on recovery. I’m motivated to get back to full strength as quickly as possible and will work relentlessly to be ready for Daytona.”

Keselowski also shared an X-Ray of bone, a picture in recovery with his family, and a video of him walking the hospital floor with a walker. In the video, Keselowski gingerly walked down the hospital floor while what a medical professional gave him some instructions on how to regain strength in his leg.
He wrote, “Life has a way of reminding you to slow down. Grateful for my family by my side, an excellent medical team, and the ability to take a few steps forward today. Focused on Daytona.”
Keselowski concluded, “Bonus – I’m now bionic!”

The next race on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule is the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 1st. The series moves to Daytona on Thursday February 12th for the first night of the Duels at Daytona. The Daytona 500 takes place on Sunday, February 15th.
