Fresh off his fifth World of Outlaws Championship Brandon Sheppard announced that he will be heading to the Dome to compete in the Castrol Gateway Dirt Nationals in St. Louis, Missouri and that he will be competing in a Rocket.
Sheppard posted on Facebook, “Next stop: The Dome at America’s Center.”
When asked what chassis he would be racing, Sheppard made it clear he would be racing a Rocket.
He said, “We will be in a Rocket Chassis at the dome!”
He reiterated this in another response.
Furthermore, he hinted that he might be competing in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rather than the World of Outlaws next year.
All of this appears to lend credence to rumors that Sheppard will likely return to Rocket1 Racing next year to pilot the house car.
Kevin Kovac at DirtonDirt.com initially shared that that is likely where Sheppard will go, “Speculation has been swirling in the pit area that Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., who has already announced his departure from the Longhorn factory team come the end of the WoO schedule, will return to the Rocket house car seat and Richards’s son, Josh, might come back as a driver on a limited basis in a Rocket machine.”
That report was echoed by Justin Fiedler at DIRTRACKER who shared, “It is my understanding that [Tim McCreadie] has been told that he will not return as the Rocket house car driver next season.”
He added, “McCreadie’s departure would clear the way for a new driver with again all signs continuing to point at Sheppard.”
Sheppard previously announced he would start his 2025 season in his family-owned B5 at the Wild West Shootout in New Mexico.
