Camaron Marlar revealed a right front shock with a stack spring set up went missing while he was competing with The Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series at Duck River this past weekend.
Marlar finished 10th on Friday night and then 23rd on Saturday night posted on Facebook, “Sucked it up this weekend, suckiest part was that we learned to make sure to lock your trailer door at night.”
“Woke up Saturday morning with a trailer flat, valve core was loosened. Oh well, didn’t cost anything,” he continued. “Later on that night i noticed a RF shock missing that I knew was in the trailer. I’ve waited to confirm this after taking inventory and double checking the shop today. ”
He concluded, “So anyways be on the lookout for a Rf bilstein with stack spring set up. Serial number 050924-04.”
Clint Vaughn, who works with Sam Seawright, also shared, “We were parked beside you and we got a Milwaukee impact missing.”
Marlar is far from the first super dirt late model driver to report he’s had things stolen while at a race. Earlier this year, Ryan Unzicker shared that he had a dozen tires stolen while competing with the World of Outlaws and Summer Nationals at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park. Unzicker wrote on Facebook, ”
We bought 14 used tires yesterday they were stack up between our toter and trailer someone came and took 13 of them somewhere between 2am and 9am If anyone knows who did this please reach out we would like to have them back We all struggle in this sport dont take whats not yours!”
He would later share an update that he was informed that a number of kids working for the track had gone out to collect the tires and ended up dumping them in a collection spot at the track for used tires where he found one of them.
However, he later discovered that the kids did not work for the track and his tires were stolen. He shared on Facebook, “Yesterday we were told the kids were track workers picking up tires. Today we got a call saying the track didn’t know anything about the kids & didn’t hire them. When we left this morning there were tires & no kids. Looks like we were all out smarted but they were seen by others loading tires on a 4wheeler around 8am. Eventually it will catch up to them. Hopefully this will bring attention & it won’t happen to anyone else. Thank you I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park for trying to make this right when you didn’t have to we appreciate it!”
Austin Howes also reported that someone walked off with his dirtcar pit lift while he was competing at Macon Speedway with the Summer Nationals at the end of June.
As a number of people have suggested Marlar should look into getting cameras than just locking the trailer door. Fellow super dirt late model driver Landon Gentry noted, “Big reason I’ve put ring cameras in my trailer. This has become way too common.”
