Chris “Smokey” Madden will join Wells Motorsports to pilot the team’s Infinity Chassis House Car in 2026.

After running a limited pick and choose schedule initially with G.R. Smith at the beginning of the year and then Kale Green at the end of the year, the deal with Wells Motorsports will see Madden compete full time in 2026. However, he will still be running a pick and choose schedule and plans to chase big money races. First on Madden’s schedule will be the Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park that take place between January 22nd and the 24th.

“I can’t thank David and Eric Wells enough for putting this deal together,” Madden said. “They’ve always had a first-class operation with Brandon Overton and even dating back to when Eric drove himself. I’m extremely honored for them to restart their program and put me behind the wheel of their racecar. Infinity Chassis drivers have done very well all over the country since Wells Motorsports started building those cars and I’m excited to join the team!”

Madden will be joined by Kent Fegter, who previously worked for both Chris Madden Racing and Wells Motorsports. Also joining the team is Wyatt Hardison of Hardison Suspension Technology.

The press release confirms rumors earlier this year from dirt late model insider Racing’ Jason. He told StockCarReport.com at the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, “Madden to Wells.”

Additionally, he publicly shared the rumor during an episode of Rippin’ the Lip on November 18th, “I’m hearing a driver from South Carolina is supposed to be getting that ride, is this true? … Y’all said his name (Chris Madden) a little while ago. He left Senoia. … I heard he’s got-.”

Following this, Justin Fiedler at Dirtrackr reported, “I’ve heard from multiple people that the deal though with Green ended after Senoia and Madden might have a new ride.”

As for what that new ride is, Fiedler indicated he would be behind the wheel of a Wells Motorsports house car, “I’ve had multiple sources tell me it’s actually Chris Madden that’s headed there. This is one I was sent a few times here recently by different folks, but I wasn’t sure I believed it. One source though who hit me up this week really had my attention. So I think this has a lot more steam to it. This could be a good place for Madden to land knowing he likely doesn’t want to run 50 to 60 races a season. He can run with Wells, help develop that chassis, and kind of race less and maybe closer to home.”

According to My Race Pass, had three wins this past year, 12 top 5s, and 19 top 10s. His wins came at Swainsboro, Wythe, and Volunteer Speedway with the Southern Nationals.
