Cody Overton will not compete with the World of Outlaws at Hendry County Motorsports Park tonight, but will instead race with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at All-Tech Raceway.
After the Scales co-host Jacob Dove shared on X that overton will compete in Bruce Kane’s #15 at All-Tech with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
He wrote on X, “Cody Overton has made his way up to All-Tech Raceway after previously being at Hendry County for the World of Outlaws event. Overton will be piloting Bruce Kane’s #15 car tonight at All-Tech with Lucas Dirt.”

As for why he’s not competing in his own stuff and racing with Lucas Oil, Dove shared that he had “engine issues again.”

Overton shared with FloRacing, “Last night we practiced and ended up breaking a piston, we think, in my motor. So fresh out of motors. That was it.”
“Drove up here really to just help Brandon, come hang out, and then the plan was to drive Bruce’s car at Bubba. Then we get here and he just got here — I don’t know 2 to 3 hours ago — and he said, ‘Hell, I’m here. You want to race?’ I said, ‘[Expletive] let’s try just it.”
Overton suffered multiple engine failures back in January with the World of Outlaws when they made their first visit to Volusia Speedway Park for the Sunshine Nationals. Overton initially shared on Facebook, “Racing can be cruel sometimes. Unfortunately, our Speedweeks are over before they truly began after failures in both of our motors last night.”
“We’ll take a few weeks to regroup, reset, and get ready for the next chapter. This team doesn’t quit,” he concluded.
He later shared with DirtVision about how it all went down, “Practice day, made it out there. Put it in high gear. Made it down the back straightaway and put her back in the fence. Blew the first one up. Getting my second one and I made it down the front straightaway. Took her out of the gate again. I don’t know just crazy freak deal is what happened. One was brand new. The other one was the one I ran from last year. It just wasn’t kind of meant to be.”
