Corey Day shared an update on Sunday after he was involved in a violent wreck during the Hangtown 100 at Placerville Speedway.

A few laps past the halfway mark and Day was closing in on race leader Kyle Larson. Unfortunately, he misjudged a crossover move on Gavin Miller and clipped his left rear tire. He then violently flipped 4 or 5 times before coming to rest on all fours.

Day exited the car, but appeared to be doing so very cautiously and gingerly. He shared an update to social media on Sunday writing, “Thank you to everyone that has checked on me after last night. Thank you to Arai Americas, Simpson Racing, Ultra Shield and the Placerville Speedway safety crew for keeping me safe last night.”

“Pretty banged up but overall ok. See you guys this week, Factory Kahne Shocks and I have some unfinished business.”

Day is competing with Willie Kahne in the No.4 midget car for a number of USAC Midget races to close out November. Up next on his schedule is the November 19th race at Plaza Park Raceway. He’ll also be heading to Thunderbowl Raceway, Merced,  Bakersfield Speedway, and Ventura Raceway for the 84th annual Turkey Night Grand Prix on November 29th.
