Corey Heim threatened Layne Riggs following the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro that saw Riggs get into Heim on the last lap of the race while battling for the lead.

After taking the white flag, Riggs dove his truck down into turn 1 and slid up into Heim where he brushed him coming out of turn 2. The contact caused Heim to spin. Despite Rajah Caruth getting into the side of the spinning Heim, NASCAR would not throw the caution and Chandler Smith passed Riggs to get the win.

Following the race, Heim confronted Riggs on pit road and told him, “You’re racing like a f***ing idiot. Calm down or else someone’s going to take care of you.” Before Riggs could even respond, he turned around and walked away.

Speaking with Fox Sports, Riggs explained his move, “I feel like he got really loose into 3 and 4 and kind of gave the bottom up. And we were side-by-side down the front stretch and I had a huge run and I went bottom and I didn’t fence him. I slid him up the track, you know, gave him one lane there. We’re at North Wilkesboro on the last lap for a truck win. I feel like I didn’t do anything wrong there. I think roles reversed-. It was hard racing all day. I feel like everybody came out of there alive and we had a good finish. I only really care about me and my team.”

Heim had a very different opinion. He said, “Just why? More than anything. He tried to do it to the 7 last week for the win and mission accomplished him for this week and it cost him one too. So, I don’t know. Just brutal. We’ve given up so many of them this year after pretty much dominating most of this race. Obviously, the 38 was the only other guy that was rightfully good. So felt like he probably deserved to win if anybody not the 34, but got really loose into three — we struggled being loose on those short runs — and he had an opportunity and he wrecked me. Just disappointed.”

Unofficially, Riggs finished second while Heim finished in 17th.
