Cory Hedgecock announced he will be piloting a Longhorn chassis in select races this year with “bigger plans for next year.”
In a post to Facebook, Hedgecock stated, “We have a new Longhorn now thanks to Viper Motorsports and some investors, Steve Arpin and Kevin Rumley. We will have it out and about in the next several weeks and see what this Horn can do with some bigger plans for next year!”
The post has sparked quite a bit of debate and conversation given Hedgecock is one of three individuals alongside his father Chad and fabricator Bruce Nunnally behind BMF Race Cars. However, he made clear in the comments that he is not done building his BMF chassis.

Hedgecock has run well in his BMF Race Car this year. He’s won 6 races, scored 17 top 5s and 25 Top 10s in just 35 features albeit one of those wins was with CRUSA at I-75 Raceway for the J.T. Kerr Memorial. Most recently he had a strong performance at Florence Speedway for the North/South 100 finishing in 9th. Earlier this year he finished third in the 2025 Spring Nationals Point standings behind Garrett Smith and Wil Herrington. He’s currently third in the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series just 28 points behind current leader Jimmy Owens. In 11 features with the series, he racked up one win at Lake Cumberland at the end of June and amassed 5 top 5s and 8 top 10s.

What do you make of Hedgecock getting his hands on a new Longhorn?
