Cory Hedgecock’s Team Reacts To Getting Wrecked By Bobby Pierce “Got Wiped Out By A Pierce Of Crap”

Cory Hedgecock’s Billy Hicks Racing team was not happy with the way Bobby Pierce raced their driver during the first last chance showdown race.

On lap 4 of the last chance showdown, Hedgecock slid up the track coming out of turn 2 in a move that looked eerily similar to Pierce’s move against Hudson O’Neal at the Wild West Shootout. Pierce backed out of it and Hedgecock was able to slightly pull away.

However, Pierce continued to dig and threw a slider on lap 6 through 1 and 2. Hedgecock performed a crossover down the back stretch and his right rear quarter panel made contact with Pierce’s left front coming out of turn 4. Pierce then threw a tight slider on Hedgecock through 1 and 2. Hedgecock saw it coming, checked up and then crossed him over again.

Pierce had had enough. He moved to the bottom behind Hedgecock as they moved through 3 and 4. He then made contact with Hedgecock’s left rear tire sending Hedgecock spinning and drawing the caution. The contact would also cause Pierce to suffer damage to his nose.

Upon the restart, Pierce who was running in second after spinning Hedgecock fell through the field and finished the last chance showdown in fifth. Hedgecock, who was in a transfer, finished dead last.

Billy Hicks Racing reacted to Pierce’s move on Facebook, “Bobby Pierce took us out plain and simple.”

In a subsequent post, the team added, “Had a good piece in Bmain made good changes but got wiped out by a Pierce of crap.”
