Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared a first look at this new No. 8 Budweiser MLB Speedway Classic Chevy that he will compete in for the zMAX CARS Tour race at Anderson Motor Speedway in August.
At the JR Motorsports shop in Mooresville, North Carolina as part of JR Motorsports Fan Day, Junior unveiled the car alongside his driver Connor Hall, who is currently second in the CARS Tour LMSC points, just 12 points behind current leader Landen Lewis. After uncovering the car, Junior said, “For those of you who can’t see this. This is the baseball car that we ran with Budweiser many, many, many years ago.”
“It’s the baseball car!” ⚾️

As Junior noted, the original Budweiser / MLB All-Star Game paint scheme debuted back in July 2001 and he drove it to victory at Daytona International Speedway following the death of his father at the track earlier that year.
“It is an incredible opportunity to reunite with Budweiser and Major League Baseball,” said Earnhardt Jr. “I’ve watched that July 2001 race at Daytona so many times. It’s such a great memory for me. I am excited that we have this chance to collaborate with Bud and MLB to bring that scheme back again because of what it means to me and so many others.”
As can be seen on the car, MLB is back as a sponsor, but for the league’s MLB Speedway Classic, which will be held at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 2, 2025 and will see the Atlanta Braves face off against the Cincinnati Reds.
Budweiser is also back with SVP of Marketing Todd Allen saying, “The incredible fan response to Budweiser’s reunion with Dale Jr. last November reminded us just how special this partnership is to racing fans. “This No. 8 Budweiser / MLB All-Star Game-inspired paint scheme pays tribute to one of the most iconic moments in the storied history of Dale Jr. and Budweiser’s partnership. The MLB Speedway Classic is the perfect stage to revive this fan-favorite design, uniting an American racing icon and American beer at a first-of-its-kind MLB event.”
