After attempting to chase Rookie of the Year with the World of Outlaws last year, Daniel Hilsabeck announced he will compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in 2025.
Hilsabeck made the announcement on Facebook writing, “We’re excited to announce that Daniel will be running the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series this year!”
The team then announced it will next compete at Atomic Speedway on March 21st. That is the next race on the Lucas Oil schedule.
Hilsabeck finished 19th in Outlaws points last year after competing in 10 features. He had 1 top 10. He finished 141st with Lucas Oil last year after competing in three features. He had one top 10.
Following Speed Weeks in Florida and George, Hilsabeck sits in 31st position with the Outlaws after two starts. He currently sits in 19th with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series after competing in four features.
As his points positions in both series are indicative, he had a tough Speedweeks. Back on February 13th, he detailed how tough it was, “What a week it’s been. Calling it bad luck would be an understatement. First, we broke one of our motors, then our hauler was broken into, then to top it off the oil pump belt broke on another motor last night, knocking it out as well. Now we have two motors in need of repair and one new motor that’s not yet ready, which means we’ll have to end our Florida racing three races early due to a shortage of raceable motors. We’re pretty bummed.”
He added, “We’re headed back to Iowa to regroup, install our new motor, and get back to racing. Despite these setbacks, we remain positive and know that this is just a rough patch. Thank you for your support—we can’t wait to see you at our next race!”
