There’s some speculation that Daulton Wilson and the Big Frog Motorsports could potentially pursue a national tour or at the very least the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.
Wilson announced that he would be racing full time in 2026 with Big Frog Motorsports earlier this month. He stated at the time on Facebook, “Daulton Wilson is proud to announce that he will take the wheel of the Big Frog Motorsports / Viper 58v for the upcoming 2026 racing season. The team is currently assembling a full stable of Longhorn Race Cars in preparation for their season debut at the Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Raceway Park.”
As for what the plans for 2026 were other than the Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Raceway Park, Wilson and his team stated, “A detailed 2026 schedule and series intent will be announced in the coming weeks as the remaining components of the program are finalized.”
Now DirtonDirt.com’s Kyle McFadden suggests that the team could chase a national tour or the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series. McFadden said, “Shawn Martin’s Viper Motorsports team is no stranger to national touring, even if the Big Frog operation hasn’t run a full-time schedule in some time. With Cory Hedgecock moving to Billy Hicks Racing, it’s fair to wonder if some of the Viper support tied to the No. 23 program could shift toward Wilson on a full-time basis. I could see Wilson competing for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series title in 2026 if he doesn’t pursue a national tour.”
The Viper Motorsports team competed nationally with Max Blair with the World of Outlaws in 2022, but the two mutually parted ways at the end of the season. Before Blair, the team announced its intention to compete with the Outlaws for a full season with Darrell Lanigan in 2021, but they only ended up competing in 15 of the scheduled 49 features.
Last year, the Big Frog team ran a pick and choose schedule with a number of different drivers. The team had Jimmy Owens in the car for a Southern Nationals championship run, but came up two spots short behind Kaede Loudy and Garrett Smith.
Earlier in the year Devin Dixon nabbed a win at Ocala Speedway for the Mike Peters Open in April in the car.
Wilson teamed up with them towards the end of the season. His first stint was at Screven in September with the Ultimate Super Late Model Series where he came home third. He followed that up with a 6th and 10th place at Cherokee with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series in October. At the end of October they teamed up again at East Alabama Motor Speedway for The National 100 weekend. The team finished 12th, 6th, and 7th.
He also had a solid performance at the World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. He made the feature all three nights and brought it home 13th, 20th, and 12th.
