The World of Outlaws Late Model Series announced that Ethan Dotson will return to the series for a sophomore year in 2026.

Spence Smithback at WorldofOutlaws.com shared, “Ethan Dotson has locked in his plans to return for season two on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision.”

While Dotson his returning, his ASD Motorsports team looks a little different. Veteran crew chief Cody Mallory has joined the team. Mallory worked with Ryan Gustin and Todd Cooney Motorsports for the beginning half of 2025, but departed the team around June. He’s worked with some of the best in the business over the last decade or so. He previously wrenched with Scott Bloomquist as well as Chris Madden and Nick Hoffman who filled in for Bloomquist after his infamous motorcycle accident in March 2019.

That partnership has already borne fruit. Dotson bagged a win in what is arguably the best race of the year so far in night three of the Wild West Shootout blazing past Tyler Erb and Bobby Pierce on the outside following a late race restart.

On top of getting that win, Dotson finished fifth in overall points at the Wild West Shootout only behind Hudson O’Neal, Bobby Pierce, Tyler Erb, and Garrett Alberson. Dotson finished 9th, 6th, 1st, 15th, 7th and 7th in the six-race miniseries.

Dotson finished 10th in the World of Outlaws points in his rookie season. He had 1 win 8 top 5s and 17 top 10s. His lone win came at Farmer City.

Dotson joins 16 other drivers who have committed to the Outlaws this year. The list includes: Trey Mills, Eli Johnson, Cody Overton, Ryan Gustin, Tristan Chamberlain, Dennis Erb Jr., Nick Hoffman, Tim McCreadie, Logan Zarin, Drake Troutman, Bobby Pierce, Jake Timm, Tyler Erb, Ryan Wilson, Dustin Sorensen, Daulton Wilson.

He will kick off The World of Outlaws Late Model season this weekend at Volusia Speedway Park for the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals. Racing kicks off this Thursday on January 22nd and continues through the 24th. The series will then return to Volusia in February for the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals which takes place from February 12-14. It will then head to Hendry County Motorsports Park for the Swamp Cabbage 100 which takes place from February 20-21.
