Garrett Smith was not happy with Donald McIntosh during the 2025 Spring Nationals race at Dixie Speedway on Saturday.
Following a restart with 16 laps left in the race, McIntosh got a little sideways exiting turn 2 that hurt his momentum. That allowed Smith to strike with a slider in turn 3, but he was unable to complete it. McIntosh was forced up and over the cushion coming out of turn 4, but was able to maintain the lead. He then sparked off the outside wall and dove to the inside of the track down the front stretch. He then slid up the track into turn 1 to defend against Smith, but he got up and over the cushion a little bit in turn 2. As he exited the turn, Smith was below him and came ever so slightly down and made contact with him sending Smith into inside wall and ending his night.
After exiting his vehicle, Smith threw his steering wheel at McIntosth. It skipped off the track and made direct contact with McIntosh’s car.

McIntosh would go on to win the race while Smith settled for a 13th place finish after the wreck.
Speaking to Dewayne Keith, McIntosh shared his point of view regarding the contact with Smith, “Honestly, the race car was a lot better than I was tonight. I jumped the cushion down there and unfortunately got into Garrett down there trying to get back into the race track so sorry to him. Like I said, I was just trying too hard and got a little over my head and ended over the cushion. But I had a really good racecar.”
He added, “Again, sorry to Garrett there. When I come back across the racetrack we were just going hard for it there and got to together. But what a night!”
