Gordy Gundaker, one of the track promoters for Tri-City Speedway, addressed naysayers after the DIRTcar Summer Nationals 2025 Hell Tour stop at the track got rained out last night.
Gundaker wrote on Facebook, “Rained out tonight after a 2-3 inch monsoon in about 20 minutes at 5:00. Luckily for us all the dirt track dips**ts are alive and well on Facebook tonight! I know they have nothing better to do, so it’s always exciting to see how we could’ve got the track surface and also the pit area ready for tonight’s event!”
“My suggestion for the people at home who have nothing better to do in their lives is this. Put the phone down, go outside and get some fresh air. Find something in your life that gives you joy besides social media. Cause being whiny and b****ing about every little thing on here just isn’t it,” he concluded.
Kenny Wallace, who was planning to compete in his modified at the track reported, “he craziest thing just happened to our Dirt race tonight in Granite city Illinois at Tri-City Speedway 100° and sunny literally everywhere. A very dark cloud rolled over the racetrack and dumped 1 inch of rain in 20 minutes. RAINED OUT ! No rain a football field away. AMAZING.”
Brandon Sheppard and his team also had a little fun with the water as one crew member began swimming in the water that had collected on a concrete pad in the pits.
Sheppard also noted in the comments that “the track is super flooded.” Furthermore, he shared a photo and noted, “Standing water on track.”
