Aaron Reutzel’s team shared that their driver suffered a fractured right foot after he was involved in a wicked crash at Eldora on Friday night.

While running in second on lap 15 in The Knight Before The Kings Royal feature, Reutzel clipped the cushion and then flipped end over end while getting into turn 1. While airborne his wing caught the catch fence and turned the car so it landed on its side. He was then hit by both Zach Hampton that lifted Ruetzel’s car airborne. Seconds later Steven Snyder Jr. plowed into him sending his car into the middle of turns 1 and 2.

Reutzel exited the car under his own power, but immediately fell to the ground and began crawling away from his vehicle.

The World of Outlaws reported that Reutzel “was taken for further evaluation with medical personnel to address foot pain.”

Early Saturday morning, Reutzel’s team Ridge Sons Racing shared that their driver was discharged from the hospital but “he did sustain a fractured right foot.”

Additionally, they added that “he will be seeing a specialist in the coming days to determine the next steps for his recovery.”

“We kindly ask that you continue to keep Aaron, his family, and the entire RSR team in your thoughts and prayers. We will provide further updates as they become available,” they added.

Reutzel is currently third in the High Limit Series points standings only 23 points behind current leader Brad Sweet. The series’ next race is on July 22nd at Lernerville Speedway. However, it then has almost a month break not getting back into action until August 15th at Thunderbowl Raceway and then on August 16th at Placerville Speedway.
