Jake Timm announced that he will no longer compete with the World of Outlaws full time in 2026 citing “rising costs” in the sport.
Timm made the announcement in a post to Facebook on Wednesday, March 18th. He wrote, “Unfortunately we will not be making the trip to Magnolia Motor Speedway with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series this weekend. It’s been a dream come true to race with them over the last year and I want the thank everyone from World Racing Group and DIRTVision. I also want to thank all of our great fans, sponsors, my team and family for their support. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I’ve had over the last year.”
As for why, he explained, “But with rising costs within the sport, specifically those of a full national tour, it is no longer a sustainable path for our team to be competitive.”
While he’s off the World of Outlaws, he will still compete, but will run an “open schedule for the remainder of the season, focusing on events that make sense for our team while still competing at a high level. We are looking forward to going to many of our favorite events throughout the year, and visiting some of our favorite tracks and fans along the way!”
Finally, he promised to share more details about his new 2026 schedule in the near future saying “lots of fun things coming.”
Timm was 11th in points following this past weekend at Volunteer Speedway and Smoky Mountain Speedway. He was 192 points behind current leader Bobby Pierce. He finished 22nd at Volunteer Speedway and 16th at Smoky Mountain. His best finish of the year was a 10th place finish at Hendry County Motorsports Park on Friday, February 20th.
