The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series cancelled the Mountain Moonshine Classic at Smoky Mountain Speedway that was scheduled for June 13th and 14th due to inclement weather.
In a press release, Smoky Mountain Speedway owner Roger Sellers shared, “Obviously, we are disappointed to lose this weekend to weather. We wanted to consider the best interest of those competitors and fans traveling long distances and make a decision before they hit the road. We look forward to the return of the Lucas Oil Late Model Series in 2026.”
As Sellers indicates, the races will not be made up.
Accuweather predicts that an afternoon thunderstorm could hit the Maryville, Tennessee area where the track is located. Specifically it notes the probability of precipitation is 41% and the probability of thunderstorms is 25%.
On Saturday, Accuweather forecasts a 43% chance of precipitation in Maryville, Tennessee and 26% chance of thunderstorms during the day.
At night the chance of precipitation increases to 65% and thunderstorms increases to 39%.
