Max McLaughlin announced he will be back in a car and racing on a part time schedule to close out the 2025 season.
First, McLaughlin teased earlier this month he was putting a deal together writing on Facebook, “Attention race fans!! I have been working hard on putting a deal together to get back on track. Where would you like to see me race, and when?”
About a week later, he shared another update stating, “Alright everyone. I am returning to racing on a part time schedule to end 2025. If you can guess what races and for what team, I will give you a free T-Shirt with the new car on it!”
McLaughlin was originally supposed to race with Niece Motorsports and HWH Performance to chase a number of prestigious Dirt Super Late Model events. Unfortunately, in February McLaughlin shared that a major sponsor dropped out and he was out of a ride.
He shared, “At this point I don’t have any races scheduled and it’s a bummer. Never really been in this position in my career yet, but it’s the name of the game these days. It takes a lot of money to compete at this level. Thought we had a good deal going together with Niece Motorsports and we did. They hired all the right people. We had a really smart, young crew chief come in. We raced once last year and it went well and I really thought it was going to be a good deal for this year. In all honesty, we just had a primary sponsor back out and don’t have the funds to go race.”
At this point it’s unclear what kind of racing McLaughlin will be competing in. He is no stranger to super dirt late models, big block dirt modifieds, and even asphalt modifieds.
