Muskingum County Speedway and track promoter Tristan Moran shared more details about the upcoming Lucas Oil vs. World of Outlaws Shale Crescent Dirt Cup.
At the Gateway Dirt Nationals on Saturday night, Moran announced the Dirt Cup saying, “The Dirt Cup is going to be a true invite only World of Outlaws versus Lucas Oil at Muskingum County Speedway June 10th, next year, 2026.”
“To get these guys to show up to something like this it’s a lot about the money and about the bragging rights,” he added. “So we’ve got a pretty good chunk of money that are we going to give to every single driver to show up to the facility. … If anyone knows anything about golf, Ryder Cup is kind of what we’re playing off of. So it is going to be a true test of which series is better.”
“So the total purse is going to be probably $20,000 to-win, $2,000 to start. But total money we’re looking at about $200,000 in total payout,” he concluded.

On Sunday, following the conclusion of the Gateway Dirt Nationals, Moran shared more details in a post to Muskingum County Speedway’s Facebook page. He said, “So what it’s going to be is top 10 in Lucas versus top 10 in Outlaws and that is it. There will be 20 cars in the pits. They’re going to race for bragging rights. There’s going to be no outside influence of which series is better saying, ‘Oh this guy took me out’ or anything like that. It is a purely series versus series race. First of its kind.”
“We’re kind of playing off the Ryder Cup,” he continued. “So there will be points available all night of racing from qualifying all the way to the feature. We’re looking at a pretty normal format. We don’t want to get too crazy the first year. We want to make sure it works. Make sure that the logistic side of points and everything works ’cause we just don’t know what it’s going to be. We have some different ideas.”
“One cool thing that we’re going to do is we’re going to do an all-access pass: $45 gets you in the gate. That is go into the pits, go into the grandstands, go wherever you want. So we’re going to try that. All-access pass,” he concluded.
In a livestream on Devin Moran’s Facebook, more details were also revealed. Moran shared that the top 10 will be the drivers from the current 2026 season and it will be determined after the Show Me 100 for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and after 57 Special at Mansfield for the World of Outlaws’ race at Mansfield.
Moran added, “If for some reason 5th, 6th, 7th can’t come for some reason, they want to turn down $7,000 guaranteed we’ll move on to the next. So it’ll end up being 11th in line.”
Tristan then explained more about the purses, “Basically what we’re doing is paying every driver to show up $5,000. And the race is going to be — we haven’t figured exactly out — we’re thinking $20,000 to-win and $2,000 to start. And then the winning team, all 10 drivers get another $1,000. And this is an unsanctioned race. It has nothing to do with World of Outlaws or Lucas Oil points. There’s no show up points. There’s nothing like that. Very unsanctioned.”
Devin then explained a little bit about the format, “Everybody hot laps and then we’re going to qualify.” Tristan also suggested that they are looking at doing match races between some of the drivers. Devin continued, “We’ll have three heat races and then throughout qualifying and heat races we’ll have point structures for each team … and we’ll keep a tally on that throughout the entire night. After the heat races, we’re thinking a King of the Hill style bash format: 10 different races. 1st in Lucas Oil at the time will go against 1st in World of Outlaws points at the time. 2nd in Lucas will go 2nd against Outlaws. So we’ll have 10 3-lap races, or green, white, checkered races. And each of them will probably be a point as well.”
Tristan also discussed having team captains and that they would be able to pick their drivers to compete in the heat races to add a little more flare and sportsmanship to the event.
As for the feature it will be 50 laps in length and the winner will get a Stanley Cup style trophy.
