Myles Moos was extraordinarily close to making the feature during last night’s FloRacing Night in America series at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Illinois last night, but it all went sideways during his heat race when he made contact with Daryn Klein.
Moos started off the night with a solid 11th in qualifying in Group 2. That positioned him for a fourth place start in Heat 5 behind Daryn Klein, Ethan Dotson, and Tanner English. He made his way up to third with 9 laps to go getting around Dotson and began to work on Klein, who was in second behind Tanner English. On the next lap, Klein came down ever so slightly out of turn 2 and made contact with Moos. Moos’ car immediately pulled to the left and went off the racing groove below the tractor tires. He then attempted to reenter the track, but ended up spinning out in the middle of the track and getting hit first by Jake O’Neill then Jaden Frame and finally by Hunter Kohn.

On Facebook, Moos explained what happened, “Had another hot rod last night. Battling for 2nd and bumped wheels with another car and knocked the wheel out of my hands. By the time I could get it turned back to the right I was already in the mud and couldn’t steer or slow down even though I was hard on the brakes. I feel horrible for the other cars that were caught up In It also.”
Additionally, Moos thanked Rocket1’s Mark Richards and his crew for helping put his Brent McKinnon Racing car back together, “Huge thank you to Mark Richards with Rocket Chassis for coming over and fixing our car. Brent McKinnon Racing and crew for giving me a bad ass race car to wheel and working their ass off. Along with Jeff Dunham whos here to help from California. Also everyone who stopped by to make sure I was ok and lent a helping hand. We will get everything back together and be ready to go for tomorrow!”
“Also for the people who seem to wish bad things upon me, I hope one day you can find peace within your own life. I never wish anything bad to happen to ANYONE. Karma will get you one way or another,” Moos concluded.
Additionally, in the comments Moos noted, “just a weird deal all in all. His [left rear] must have hit my [right front] just perfectly.” He also shared that when he went through the mud “it was a scary feeling. I just aimed what little I could for the only opening I had and tried to get it stopped.”
