Myles Moos, the driver of the 26M for Brent McKinnon Racing, shared that a giant rock was thrown at him following the conclusion of the MARS Late Model Championship race at Fairbury American Legion Speedway on Saturday night.
Moos shared to Facebook a picture of the rock and wrote, “Good thing I had my helmet on. Some dude decided it was a good idea to chuck this boulder at me as I came off the track last night. Luckily I saw him about to do it and was able to duck my head. It ended up landing on the deck right next to me.”
Brent McKinnon Racing shared more details, “It was a ‘Rocky’ Fairbury American Legion Speedway for us last night! Got behind in qualifying but was able to position ourselves after a 4th (we [love] the #4 by the way) place heat run for the B-Main and give ourselves a shot at the 40 lap A-Main…
The team went on to describe their B-Main experience, “Running a commanding 2nd place when a caution came out with 5 laps to go when it stacked the field back up and made for an exciting finish for the final transfer spot…. Had a slider thrown on us with 2 laps to go, forced Myles to brake and turn down underneath some goober from Ohio. We fell back to 3rd on the last lap but the knucklehead would get a dose of the famed Fairbury cushion and allow us to position ourselves to regain the position…. Said Goober from Ohio ran out of talent again and jumped the cushion and ate the concrete wall and allowed us to transfer to the A-Main…”
As for the feature, they revealed, “Starting 21st we were able to pass a few cars and finish 15th in the 40 laps A-Main.”
Accompanying a picture of the now-autographed rock, the team wrote, “Unsure of our plans as to where we head next but in the meantime we will be dropping a line of autographed ‘rocks’ or ‘Rip Rap’ to commemorate our run last night! Get yours while supplies last! P.S. It’s a good thing our driver wasn’t hurt when it was thrown at him by some old codger while coming off the race track…”
