More rumors are pointing to Jonathan Davenport competing with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in 2026.
Earlier this week, Justin Fiedler, the host of Dirtrackr, shared on his daily show that Jonathan Davenport would be making a schedule change in 2026. He said, “He’s been a series regular with Lucas for the past three seasons, but that could be coming to an end. A pick-and-choose schedule seems most likely, but it sounds like there’s at least been some contact between the team and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series about a potential flip.”
That rumor came after Davenport announced a new primary sponsor in Ace Doran Hauling and Rigging for his Double L Motorsports team. Additionally, Davenport indicated that it was just the first big announcement he and his team were making to begin the new year.
Davenport’s announcement was shared by FloRacing’s Kyle McFadden who commented, “Jonathan Davenport teased at the Lucas Oil banquet there’s an “exciting announcement” coming before the New Year. I take this is that.”
Davenport reacted to the post saying, “There’s more……….”

Now, more rumors are indicating that Davenport will run with the World of Outlaws in 2026. Dirt late model insider Racin’ Jason had previously informed StockCarReport.com at the World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte that Davenport would run with the Outlaws, but at the time he noted “that’s not carved in stone yet.”
However, on the first episode of Rippin’ the Lip of the new year, he teased, “Don’t be surprised when Lucas is at All-Tech, I think [Jonathan Davenport] is going south. That’s all I’m going to say.”

What Racin’ Jason is referring to is that the World of Outlaws will be at Hendry County Motorsports Park for the Swamp Cabbage 100 on February 20th and 21st. Those are the same dates that the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be kicking off its season with its second and third races of the year at All-Tech Raceway. It’s first race of the year will be at All-Tech on the 19th of February.
Davenport ran with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series the past three seasons. He finished third this past year behind Devin Moran and Ricky Thornton Jr., but had a whale of a battle between himself and Thornton for the top spot before the series went into its playoff format.
In 2024, he finished third behind Thornton and Moran. In 2023, the first and only year the series did its winner-take-all format at Eldora for the championship, he finished fourth. He won Lucas Oil championships in 2015, 2018, and 2019.
Davenport has never competed in a full season with the World of Outlaws despite winning 17 features with the series, which is good for 15th on the series’ all-time wins list. He had three World of Outlaws wins this past year at I-55 and two at the World Finals.
If Davenport does make the jump to the World of Outlaws, he’ll join Drake Troutman, Eli Johnson, Cody Overton, Ryan Gustin, Trey Mills, Tristan Chamberlain, Jake Timm, Dennis Erb Jr., Nick Hoffman, Bobby Pierce, Tim McCreadie, and Logan Zarin who have officially committed to the series.
