Ricky Stenhouse Jr. shared an update on how he’s feeling about the growing feud between him Carson Hocevar after Hocevar locked up the brakes and spun him out during the Cup Series race in Mexico City.

With 10 laps left in the race, Hocevar locked up his brakes going into the stadium portion of the track and got into the rear of Stenhouse spinning him out.

At the conclusion of the race Stenhouse confronted Hocevar while he was still in his car. Stenhouse stuck his entire head and arms into the car and shared some words for Hocevar. He said, “I’m going to beat your ass. You’re a lap down. You’ve got nothing to do. Why you run right into me? It’s the second time.”

Hocevar responded saying, “I’m sorry. I was locked up.” Stenhouse retorted, “I don’t give a damn.”

“I f***ed up,” Hocevar added.

Stenhouse wasn’t hearing any of it and reiterated his threat, “I will beat your ass when we get back to the States.”

Now, during an appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Stenhouse shared, “I’ve calmed down a little bit. My wife talks me off the ledge sometimes. She does a good job with that. It doesn’t change the fact that you get spun out for no reason. Felt like it cost us probably 7 spots. We didn’t wreck at like Nashville, but we had put ourself in a spot-. We had got spun a couple times throughout that race and just kept trying to fight back and get our track position. And felt like on that long run there at the end there was still 3 or 4 spots right there in front of us that we could get and then we ended up giving up another 4 or 5 spots.”

“Just frustrating,” he continued. “Obviously, when you got somebody a lap down that had run into you a couple weeks before that. Our talk after Nashville, [Hocevar] said, ‘Hey, I’m going to run you a lot different.’ Which, hey, at Mexico City he waved me by so I was like, ‘Alright, things are looking up.’ And obviously he missed his marks and came from pretty far back and ran into us. Again, I know he wasn’t racing us, it’s just really frustrating for our team, our partners, and obviously myself to get spun at a stage like that where there was nothing to be raced for.”
