A new rumor alleges that Tim McCreadie will not return to the Rocket1 Racing team for the 2025 season after stepping into the car following Hudson O’Neal’s departure from the team in March.

This rumor comes from Justin Fiedler at DIRTRACKR on YouTube. He said in a recent video upload, “It is my understanding that [Tim McCreadie] has been told that he will not return as the Rocket house car driver next season.”

As for who might replace McCreadie in the Rocket1 Racing car Fiedler said “all signs continue to point to [Brandon] Sheppard.”

Sheppard announced he was leaving the Longhorn Factory Team and Riggs Racing at the conclusion of the 2024 World of Outlaws Late Model season and would begin 2025 at the Wild West Shootout in his family-owned B5.

However, Sheppard did not reveal any plans following the Wild West Shootout, but noted “past that point we are still looking to lock some things down.”

Kevin Kovac at DirtonDirt.com also pointed to Sheppard returning to the Rocket1.

He wrote, “Speculation has been swirling in the pit area that Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., who has already announced his departure from the Longhorn factory team come the end of the WoO schedule, will return to the Rocket house car seat and Richards’s son, Josh, might come back as a driver on a limited basis in a Rocket machine.

As for McCreadie’s future, Fiedler said it could be “some sort of Boom Briggs situation.”

Kovac also shared, “McCreadie will shift to driving for Boom Briggs of Bear Lake, Pa., in a deal closely affiliated with Rocket.” However, Rocket1 Racing team owner Mark Richards did not comment on that speculation.

McCreadie had a solid year with the Rocket1 team finishing fourth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series albeit only claiming a single victory with the team at the Topless 100.

However, towards the end of the season he put together a string of strong finishes and topped it off with a second place at the Dirt Track World Championship.

What do you make of McCreadie being out at Rocket1 and Sheppard replacing him? What about McCreadie going to race for Boom Briggs?
