Super DIRTcar Series racer Felix Roy shared the tragic news that he lost a family friend, his family’s business headquarters, and his race garage in a horrific fire last night.
Roy shared the tragic news earlier today on Facebook. A machine translation of his post from French Canadian to English states, “It’s with great sadness that I announce the headquarters of our family business and our race garage was burnt to the ground last night. A family friend was unfortunately inside and was found dead.”
“Unfortunately I have to cancel my trip to Florida,” he continued. “Thank you for your support, this is a really big challenge for our family and the race team.”
He concluded, “We have special thoughts with our friend’s family. I will not be replying to any messages or questions at this time, thank you for understanding.”
Roy won Rookie of the Year with the Super DIRTcar Series in 2023. He finished 13th in overall points and had a best finish of second. In 2024, he finished 9th in the series points with 7 top 10s.
Last year he finished 11th in points, but had two top 5s and 10 top 10s. He finished fifth twice at Brockville Ontario Speedway in July and then in November on night two of the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
He won the series’ Fan Favorite award for the third year in a row last year.
On top of competing with the Super DIRTcar Series, he also won the 2025 Airborne Park Speedway Championship. And he stayed extraordinarily busy as well competing in 101 feature races.
The racing community is keeping Felix Roy, his family, and the family friend who lost his life in their prayers.
