Super late model veteran Stormy Scott announced he is returning to hid modified roots and likely will not be competing in his super late model going forward.

A press release from MSR Mafia detailed that Scott plans to compete in “a mixture of American Racer Modified Series, Touring Outlaw Modified Series, and United States Modified Touring Series events throughout the 2025 season to go along with regional and local events close to his Amarillo home.”

Scott commented, “I’ve had a lot of fun in the Super Late Model ranks over the past several years, but the time has come for me to turn my focus. I’m currently shifting my attention back to where it all started for me in the Modified ranks.”

As for why, he explained, “Everybody knows that Super Late Model racing has gotten really expensive, so it’s a factor, but honestly it’s not the biggest factor in me making this change. I’ve spent a lot of time away from home the past several years, and I’m looking forward to being home more with my wife Ashley and my stepdaughter Zoe.”

“Modified racing within a six-hour radius of our home in Amarillo gives me countless options to race throughout the year, while sleeping in my own bed a lot of nights,” he added.

His return to modified racing allows him to work with fellow super late model driver Cade Dillard and his Cade Dillard Racing Racecars.

Scott shared, “Cade Dillard and I have been good friends for a long time, and I’m excited to finally get to race one of his CDR Racecars. He’s a sharp dude and has a great product, and this is cool to see it all come together.”

First up on Scott’s modified schedule is the 2025 King of America race, which takes place at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri between March 27th and 29th. He did compete in his super late model during the Wild West Shootout. He competed in three races with a best finish of 7th. He finished in 12th and 22nd in the other two features.
