Tanner Holmes announced he will join Buch Motorsports to chase the High Limit Racing series in 2026 and will make his debut next month for the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Holmes made the announcement on Facebook, “I am excited to announce that I will be piloting the Buch Motorsports #13 for the upcoming World Finals next week in Charlotte, North Carolina.”
“The plan is to follow up with a full time run with High Limit Racing in 2026,” he continued. “his is an unbelievable opportunity from Tom Buch and Sean Strausbaugh and I am excited to join them next week on the east coast!”
The announcement comes a week after Daison Pursley announced he would leave Buch Motorsports and join Kasey Kahne Racing for the 2026 High Limit Racing season.
Holmes shared more details with FloRacing, “Everything happened pretty quickly. Obviously these guys needed a driver after Daison departed the team heading to KKR. I was kind of looking to get to the national stage if the right opportunity was there. At the same time had the opportunity going on over here on the West Coast with my own car and been racing with Tarlton (Racing in the No. 21). For me, I’ve been going week-to-week and didn’t have anything set in stone.”
“Tom had reached out to me, maybe a couple weeks ago, and asked about my plans. It wasn’t anything, like, ‘Hey, this is what we’re going to go do.’ He was doing his due diligence as a car owner. They got through the High Limit season, and literally it was yesterday when we got on the phone; talked with him and crew chief (Sean Strausbaugh). Within a half-hour, we were good to go,” he relayed.
Holmes, a native of Oregon, competed out west for the majority of this year. He won the Silver Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway at the beginning of March and was competitive in the NARC series. He finished second at Silver Dollar Speedway during the Gold Cup in April. He won the first feature during the Morrie Williams Memorial Twin 20s at Thunderbowl Raceway in May. He nabbed another podium at Cottage Grove Speedway in June finishing second. Later in June He’d rack up two more podiums at Skagit Speedway during the Super Dirt Cup finishing third on Night two and second in the Super Dirt Cup. More recently, he won at Thunderbowl Raceway for the Chris & Brian Faria Memorial.
