Tazewell Speedway Announces Sale Of Track To New Ownership

Tazewell Speedway, which is located in Tazewell, Tennessee, announced it has sold the track and the new owners are Brian and Paula Smith of Barbourville, Kentucky.

In a post to Facebook, owners Gary and Shirlene Hall shared, “Today we entered into a contract for the sale of Tazewell Speedway to Brian and Paula Smith of Barbourville, KY, effective late 2025. We greatly appreciate all of the drivers and fans for their overwhelming support for the twenty years of my ownership. Also, a big thanks to the many sponsors for their support of The Taz!”

“Most of all, thank you to the entire staff for your incredible dedication and hard work, ensuring the best possible race events.”

They concluded, “Please join us in welcoming Brian, Paula and their family as the new owners! We support them and wish them MANY years of success!”

Tazewell Speedway still has a number of events on its 2025 calendar before it finishes for year. This upcoming weekend on Saturday, September 20th will be the track’s Fan Appreciation Night. Additionally, they have the 2025 Fall Brawl, which takes place on October 4th.

The track hosted the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals for the 5th Annual Lil Bill Corum Memorial back in April. In July it hosted the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series for the Melvin Corum Memorial as well as the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals for the 21st Annual Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series Tour Finale. At the end of August, the track hosted the Southern All Stars for the 17th Annual Buddy Rogers Memorial.

No details were provided on whether the new ownership will see a change in the track’s schedule for 2026.
